BMF Blue Rose is the cow that started it all. She is a "mutt" cow. She came from the roping pens and was the orphan of a longhorn cross cow. The lady of the family took pity on Rose and bottle fed her until she was 6 months old. By that time Rose was a complete pet who thought she was human. It was decided that it was time for Rose to head to the local sale barn to make her own way in the world. The day of the sale arrived and my husband had received a call from the owner of the sale barn that he had a young horned heifer that might interest him. I tagged along as I had decided that no more cattle would be calling our farm home. Well, to make a long story short, Rosie won me over with the first pat. I brought her home to love and have never been able to live it down with Bruce since that day. Rose was the mutt cow that led to our fascination with the majestic Texas Longhorn cattle that call our farm home today.
